BRP Bulauan

refloating and towing operation

Project Overview

Location: Manila Bay, Philippines

Following the impact of Typhoon Paeng (Pae), the Philippine Coast Guard vessel BRP Suluan (MRRV 4406) required immediate marine salvage assistance after sustaining grounding in Manila Bay.

FES Challenger Salvour & Builders was engaged to carry out the refloating and towing operation, deploying experienced salvage personnel and specialized marine equipment to safely recover the vessel. The operation included site assessment, salvage planning, refloating procedures, and the controlled towing of the vessel to a designated safe location for further inspection and repairs.

Despite adverse weather conditions following the typhoon, the operation was completed with strict adherence to marine safety standards, ensuring the successful recovery of the Philippine Coast Guard vessel while minimizing further damage and operational risks.

This project reflects FES Challenger’s capability to respond rapidly to emergency marine incidents involving government vessels, providing reliable and professional salvage, refloating, and towing services under challenging conditions.
